Get Started
You can configure your computer to use ifirefly's well managed DNS to prevent many DNS problems. No software needs to be downloaded or installed, and you don't need to provide any personal information or even notify us before starting to anonymously use our free DNS caching service.
For Windows, follow these steps to get started:
- Click on Start -> Control Panel
- Click on Network and Internet Connections
- Click on Network Connections
- Right-Click on Local Area Connection
- Click on Properties from the Pop-up Menu
- On the General tab, scroll down if needed and Double Click on Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)
- Select "Use the following DNS Server Addresses"
- Set Preferred DNS Server to 207.218.233.189
- Set Alternate DNS Server to 74.53.44.189
- Click on OK then Close
For OSX 10.1 or higher, follow these steps:
- From the Apple menu, select Systm Preferences...
- From the View menu, select Network
- From the menus next to "Location:" and "Show:", select the location and interface you wish to configure, and then click the TCP/IP tab.
- In the "Domain Name Servers:" or "DNS Servers:" field, enter 207.218.233.189 for your primary name server
- Enter 74.53.44.189 for additional name servers.
- Click Apply Now or Save
